The field

Sweep the field.

One gold coin is buried in this field, along with a lot of nails. Sweep the ground with the detector and listen. Low is iron, middle is foil and brass, high and doubled is gold. Dig up the coin, then bury it again and leave it there. The longer it stays down, the deeper your rank. Digging it up puts the clock back to zero. You will want to.

How the field works

Dig it up. Or don't.

Finding the coin takes a few minutes. Leaving it alone takes a lot longer.

  1. Tag No.01

    Sweep the field.

Move the detector over the ground. The closer it gets to metal, the faster it beeps. On a phone, tap the ground.

  2. Tag No.02

    Learn the tones.

Low is iron. Middle is foil and brass. High and doubled is gold. Most of what you hit is junk, and the junk is the point.

  3. Tag No.03

    Dig it up.

Follow the high tone and dig. Somebody put a coin in this field a long time ago and did not leave a note.

  4. Tag No.04

    Bury it again.

Pick a spot and tell no one. A clock starts on this page. Dig it up and the clock goes back to zero. You will want to.

Somebody always buries it.

Four stories, four fields. Someone put valuables in the ground and never came back for them. Then someone else walked over the spot with a dog or a detector.

Ole Ginnerup Schytz searched land owned by a former classmate in Vindelev, Denmark, and found nearly 1 kg of gold: jewelry, big medallions and Roman coins turned into ornaments. It is about 1,500 years old. Archaeologists think someone important buried it, possibly after a volcanic eruption in A.D. 536.

Bury the coin and the page draws you a map of the field with an X where you left it. It is a joke map and it leads to nothing. Put a name on it, download it or post it. Keep it safe, or better, lose it.
